Meet Teresa Petruccelli, Catholic Counselor

Teresa Petruccelli, M.A. completed her undergraduate degree at Benedictine College in Kansas, where she studied Psychology and Philosophy. She received her M.A. in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas. Teresa is currently working towards licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

Teresa felt a call to become a therapist while working with youth in a psychosocial group setting. During this experience, she saw the change that occurs when someone is looked at and cared for exactly where they are, with all their wounds. It is this change that can occur in therapy and that starts someone on their path toward healing. Teresa practices using Attachment Theory, Person-Centered therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), an emotion focused approach, and leans into the power of the relationship between therapist and client. She takes an integrative approach to therapy, knowing that each client is different and has different needs. Based on prior clinical work, Teresa has experience working with individuals and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, grief, relationship and familial struggles, sexual betrayal, and trauma.

Jesus made us and He is our healer. If you choose to work with me, I desire to walk with you in discovering your original wholeness and your unique calling. I hold the conviction that each person, no matter what they have experienced, can make steps toward healing. I want to approach your story with humility and collaborate with you throughout the process of therapy. I desire to hold the tension with you between the suffering in life and the hope in the hundredfold here on earth.
