Meet Raiden Takeuchi, Catholic Counseling Intern

Raiden is a Counseling intern at Novare currently completing his Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Divine Mercy University and anticipates completing his program in December 2026. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Music Education from the University of Minnesota graduating in 2019.

After graduating, Raiden spent four years working in Catholic campus ministry with Saint Paul's Outreach serving one year at UMN and three years at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. During his time in ministry, he worked closely with college-aged men and frequently encountered individuals struggling with their mental health who had a desire for deeper meaning and healing in their life. During this time, Raiden became keenly aware of the limits of his training as a missionary and recognized the gap in his ability to fully support students who were experiencing significant mental health challenges. These experiences stirred in him a growing awareness of the unmet mental health needs within this population and ultimately led him to pursue formal training in counseling.

Raiden approaches counseling with a belief that mental and spiritual health are interconnected and that authentic healing involves the whole person. He is passionate about helping clients integrate their emotional, psychological and spiritual experiences in a way that supports growth, resilience, and flourishing. He values collaboration in the therapeutic relationship and seeks to create a space where clients feel seen, respected, and empowered in their healing process.

Raiden is interested in working with concerns related to anxiety, depression, attention disorders, life transitions, and personal development. He is grateful for the opportunity to accompany clients on their journey toward greater wholeness and healing, especially within a framework that honors both faith and evidence-based clinical care.
